MOSCOW One of the biggest volcanoes on the Kamchatka peninsula in Russia's far east has erupted, the Ria Novosti news agency reported Tuesday as carried by AFP. The 3,283-meter (10,700-foot) high Shiveluch volcano began spewing magma and gases over a two kilometer (more than one mile) area on Monday. According to Emergency Ministry experts the volcano poses no threat to local residents as no dwellings are situated within a 50-kilometer (30-mile) radius.
